Martha Ffion’s album debut album ‘Sunday Best’ came out on March 9th on Turnstile Music. We have been bowled over by the savvy arrangements and measured approach exhibited on this record, which smacks of an artist who knows exactly what she wants to do right from the off.
The LP is an accomplished demonstration of how to bind together catchy guitar pop instrumentation and enticing balladry, the track ‘Baltimore’ summing this up very nicely indeed.
To describe her as a more accessible or less quirky Cate Le Bon in fact does Ffion a massive disservice by underplaying the overriding quality of her output.
However, if you purchase the album you might just hear what we’re driving at. These are some mighty fine recordings and we recommend you track down her work and catch her live at the earliest available opportunity.
